My offering is a self-compassionate, calm, and grounded presence. I can help you work through challenges and gain coping skills such as self-compassion and mindfulness.
Is an inner critic inside of you constantly beating you down and telling you that you aren’t good enough?
Do you feel stuck, as if your own thoughts and beliefs, are holding you back?
Have you found yourself in the midst of a lifestyle that's no longer serving you?
Do you feel that you have reached a certain point of external success that you thought would make you happy, but find that on the inside you are still hurting?
Do you want help processing trauma so that you can learn how to regain a sense of safety in your body, heart, and soul?
Do you often feel that you are somehow bad or there is something wrong with you?
I’m here to remind you that we don’t have to believe all our thoughts. Our minds often tell us harsh, negative messages that evolved out of coping strategies from childhood. It is possible to change and gain more loving self-acceptance and kindness towards ourselves. Our culture tells us that goal achievement, power, and money will lead us to happiness. I’m here to say that life is about living our values, touching into our deepest authenticity, finding intrinsic meaning, and creating connections with others. I’m here to help you learn how to be kind to yourself, as there is hope and possibility for everyone.
I currently have a private counseling practice, Kinder to Yourself Counseling, and you are welcome to reach out to me for a free 15-minute phone call to see if we are a good fit via my contact page. I primarily work via telehealth, although I now have access to an art therapy office within 3 minutes of downtown Asheville with ample free parking where I see clients on Thursdays. I also currently do not take insurance. You can access my Psychology Today profile here.
